Storm prep leaves Wareham gas stations short on fuel

Heeding the advice of officials, many people filled up on Wednesday, topping off gas tanks and bringing home fuel for generators. So many in fact, some area gas stations were either completely out or low on gas Thursday morning.

The Speedway gas station on Main Street had to turn off its pumps after selling out ahead of the storm, which arrived early Thursday.

A shipment was scheduled to arrive later in the day, however, a store employee noted that with other area gas stations facing shortages too, there was a chance the delivery might be postponed once the storm worsens.

Luckily, that wasn't the case and Speedway received a shipment of fuel at 10:34 a.m. Thursday.
