Library to hold book sale

The Friends of the Wareham Free Library will hold its annual book sale this coming weekend, from Thursday, April 25 to Saturday, April 27 at the Wareham Free Library, 59 Marion Road.

It will take place on Thursday, April 25 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Friday, April 26 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturday, April 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Stock up on spring reading and help support the Friends of the Wareham Free Library. Books, DVD’s, children’s books and more are available.

The book sale is also a great opportunity to renew and/or join the Friends of the Wareham Free Library. Ask any of the book sale volunteers how.

Meet the candidates

Candidates for Town Election will gather on Friday, April 26 to answer questions, explain their platforms and participate in a candidates night.

The event will be available to watch in person in Room 320 at the Multi-Service Center, 48 Marion Road. It will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

It will be broadcast on Wareham Community Television. The event will feature candidates for Sewer Commission, School Committee and Select Board. There are two Select Board races which will have candidates speak, one
for a three-year term and one for a two-year term.

Readers can submit questions for the candidates to editor@warehamweek.com. Candidates night organizers will select the best reader-submitted questions for moderator and Wareham Week editor Liam Mayo to ask the candidates. Questions should be directed at all candidates in a particular race, and should not be personal attacks.

Golfing for a cause

Turning Point, a social services agency supporting those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, is hosting its eighth annual golf tournament on Sunday, April 28 at the Bay Pointe Club in Buzzards Bay.

The entry fee is $125 per person or $500 per team and includes 18 holes of golf, carts and the post tournament dinner.

Boiling clams

The Redmen will hold a spring clam boil on Sunday, April 28 at Redmen Hall, 745 Main Street.

Tickets are $40. Doors will open at 1 p.m. and the meal will be served at approximately 2 p.m.
