Exercise can be difficult to get at the best of times. Wareham resident Darrin Garcia wants to make it easier by organizing a group meet up for shared walking or jogging.

The group would meet Saturdays by the Cape Cod Canal, Garcia said. Anyone who is interested should contact him at bsudad1973@gmail.com, so he can get a sense of how many people might be interested.

It’s another option for exercise besides the gym, Garcia said. He added the routine and the camaraderie of people who know each other could help people attend. 

Garcia has experience with this himself. He has run multiple marathons, including the Boston Marathon in 2022 and the New York City Marathon in 2023.

For the New York marathon, Garcia ran in a group of nine friends. Training with others brought his confidence up and helped him get outside his comfort zone, he said.
