The town of Wareham, on the South Coast of Massachusetts, features hidden natural gems along its lengthy coast and within its inland open spaces.

The television show Explore New England will air an episode featuring Wareham’s outdoors this coming week on the New England Sports Network. It will air on NESN on Sunday, April 14 at 9 a.m. and on Wednesday, April 17 at 2:30 p.m., and on NESN+ on Wednesday, April 17 at 10 p.m.

The episode is also available on the Explore New England Youtube channel. 

Mattapoisett’s Tom Richardson, host and executive producer of the show “Explore New England,” explores different modes of outdoor recreation in the New England area, with a focus on family-friendly activities. Wareham’s episode is sponsored by the Community Events Committee, who helped pick the activities and venues Richardson focused on.

The episode features fishing for striped bass in Buzzards Bay, mountain biking through Minot Forest, kayaking on the Agawam River, hiking in Marks Cove, and sailing on Onset Bay, as well as a look at the town’s searun brook trout population and restoration work on the Weweantic River.
