Robert Gomes III has been indicted on charges that he shot his father to death, announced Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz.

The shooting occurred on November 27, 2023, at 1146 Main Street in West Wareham, where Robert Gomes III and his father Robert Gomes Jr. lived. According to the police report, Robert Gomes III called police at approximately 3:35 p.m., stating he had shot his father.

A Wareham paramedic declared Robert Gomes Jr., 61, dead on scene as a result of his injuries.

According to the District Attorney’s office, investigators recovered shell casings and a black duffel bag containing a ghost gun with an obliterated serial number, and detectives learned during the investigation that Gomes III purchased the gun online and constructed it himself following YouTube instructional videos.
