WHS girls tennis wins one, loses one

The Wareham Vikings girls tennis team won its first match of the season on Tuesday at New Bedford.

Playing first singles for Wareham was senior Kristin Monty.  She lost her first set but came back to win the next two.

Senior Hope Wallace also won a three-set match at second singles.  Senior Taylor Mitchell won two sets in a row at third singles.

At first doubles, senior tri-captains Charlemya Erasme and Nicole Nault won a three-set match.

The second doubles team of senior tri-captain Kendra Wright and senior Rachel Avila lost in their third set.  The final score was 4-1 Wareham.

The second match of the season was at home against Middleboro. Kristin Monty lost a three-set match at first singles. Second and third singles lost in two sets each. Charlemya Erasme and Nicole Nault played a close match at first doubles resulting in a two-set loss with a tie-breaker in the first set.

Kendra Wright and Rachel Avila had the only win for Wareham at second doubles.  Middleboro won the match 4-1.
