A knife-wielding suspect had to be subdued with a Taser on Monday, July 2, as Warham Police made four arrests that day.

Officer Christopher Smith responded to a call near Midas Muffler for a report of a man threatening another person with a knife. Upon arrival, Smith found Edward McKenzie, 30, of East Wareham near the pond behind Midas Muffler. McKenzie refused to show his hands and Officers Calib Larue and Ryan Turner arrived for back up.

McKenzie said he was going to force the officers to shoot him despite police efforts to reason with him. Eventually, a Taser was deployed and McKenzie was taken to Tobey Hospital for evaluation. A knife was later located in a bag nearby.

McKenzie is being summoned to Wareham District Court for the charge of assault with a deadly weapon. The person McKenzie originally threatened was not injured.

Officer Larue was sent from the scene to 412 Main St. for a vehicle that struck a building. Because all other Wareham cruisers were tied up, Marion police were summoned for assistance.

Officer Larue and Marion Officer Larry Savary determined that the vehicle had fled the scene. A victim reported that the driver of the car had deliberately struck her before hitting the building.

Officers investigated and determined the driver of the car was Doreen Fernandes, 52, of Wareham. She is being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, leaving the scene of property damage accident and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

The victim was transported to Tobey Hospital by Wareham EMS for treatment.

Two other women were also arrested as a result of a disturbance in the area of 166 Main St.

Officers Ryan Turner and Larue arrested Madison Snow, 31, of Wareham and Penny Draper, 54, of East Wareham. The women were charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

So glad they caught these thugs. Did they search the weave? With that grin she is for sure hiding something in that rats nest.

"Don't tase me bro!"  That quote will never get old.  Neither will ridiculous stories like this.  Where do these people keep coming from?  They get caught in threes lately.  And they're catching older ones.  Technically there's four. Why don't we have a picture of the knife-wielding suspect?

And everybody wonders why there's an East to West exodus?  It's because this is the typical element that wanders the East! Who wants to do business with this?  Look at em! The young one just looks scared and constipated..she has hope, bad neck tattoos and odd chains aren't very becoming on 52 year olds, and Penny...well there Penny...little kids wear their Halloween costumes when it's not Halloween, you are 54.  What were you thinking as you donned that getup?

I'll bet a new Midas Muffler Shop will be popping up in the West in time.  They need to get out of the bad location.  The site of Wareham Pharmacy or the Nissen Bread place would be perfect.

More stories like this one is another wake up call to Wareham residents to train  and apply for a permit to carry. Our local police, who do terrific job, are under-manned. They cannot protect us all and our property from this evil that is connected to drugs. Do it now before AG Maura Healy and liberals on Beacon Hill take that right away from you. And know this......If you smoke weed, recreationally or medically, your permit to carry.  Read the new law regarding this, it's right there in black & white!

While I whole heartedly agree with your statement BarnStorm, you might want to carefully consider brandishing your firearm in attempt to ward off evil.

You could easily be charged with intimidation of a witness for simply pointing your gun at a criminal. As ugly as it sounds, they have rights too.

So if you're gonna pull it, make it count.
