Wareham Police make drug arrest following traffic stop

Jul 26, 2018

Wareham Police made a drug arrest on Wednesday, July 25, following a traffic stop on Farm to Market Road.

Detectives stopped Thomas Clancy, 39, of East Wareham after reportedly observing a traffic violation. A subsequent search of Clancy's car yielded what detectives believed to be crack cocaine.

Clancy was arrested and charged with possession of a Class B substance as well as a marked lanes violation. He was transported to police headquarters before a scheduled court hearing.

I'm glad Wareham cops don't turn a blind eye to marked lanes violations.

We know that it's not nice to make fun of a person with a bad eye.  It's actually rather mean.  However, it's also not good to have crack and drive dangerously.  So he deserves it.  Hope he sees the light and straightens out.

Must be hard to keep an eye on the road

Crack is Whack

after his arraignment we'll have to keep an eye out for this guy on the road..

I am certainly not defending this loser, but what constituted the search of the vehicle. If they didn't have probable cause, this case will just be thrown out for ilegal search and seisuse. A marked lane violation does not constitute a search of the vehicle.

No probable cause? even  Helen Keller could see that the guy was under the influence of something. The perp was using Iguana vision, eyeing something under the front seat while he was looking for registration above the visor all at the same time.

Aw, come on guys...….shame on you.  Making fun on here about someone's hair color and style isn't bad but this guy's eye looks very serious.  Just my opinion.

Well, I didn't see that coming.  Some of us do set our sights a little low but please don't lash out.  We won't all see eye to eye on the issue of mocking those who've earned it.

My point is, it says nothing about being charged with DUI. What was the justification of the vehicle search? If it was not legit, he will unfortunately walk.

If he was in this paper because he just rescued a baby from a burning building, nobody would be making fun of his eye.  That's not the case.  He's a stupid crackhead and deserves it.

Don Knotts , all the Officer needed for probable is if he saw this dope put something under his seat as he was walking towards this guys car . LoL even I saw him tuck something under his seat . Let me see who’s the DA or a Judge going to believe ? Cyclopes ? I highly doubt it....

SFSON, I wasn't lashing out.  I spoke in my indoor voice.  We heard this on the scanner & sounded more than a simple marked lanes violation.  If the dope has the dope in plain site and he was being taken in - I think they can legally do this.    WBTS, he may be a dumb crackhead, but that eye and the bridge of his nose are medical problems.  S_S, If you people were making these comments about him as students at a high school - you would be bullies, no other way to describe it.  Of course there isn't any bullying in WHS (Palladino said) so I guess Wareham Week doesn't have bullies, either.  Lighten up.

Linda , good point if he was HS Student . But he isn’t , he’s a drug addict the same guy who wouldn’t think twice of robbing you , wouldn’t think twice of knocking you to the ground to steal 10 bucks for his next fix... Screw him .

No, he isn't in HS, nor are we.  Bullying is everywhere -  at sporting events, at clubs, in families and at work.  Just guessing that people avoid him due to his looks.  Crack and other drugs usually leave lesions.   First, I don't have $ or jewels for him to steal, I also have mace but I think I would use my knee, my foot and my fist.

Linda - just think, if you did choose to use your mace on this guy, you'd only need half.  I couldn't resist...
