A 44-year-old Wareham man was arrested Friday charged with possessing crack cocaine with intent to distribute.

Wareham Police said David “DJ” Johnson, of 20 Pires St., was found with eight pieces of crack cocaine inside Room 3 of the Village Motel on Cranberry Highway at approximately noon. Johnson was the target of a search warrant police secured regarding crack cocaine sales in the motel.

Police said Johnson and four others were sitting around a table with the drugs, which have an approximate street value of $800. A digital scale, folding knife, sandwich bags and two glass pipes were found on the table, too. Police said Johnson admitted to owning the items.

Johnson was arrested without incident and charged with possession of a Class B substance (cocaine) with intent to distribute.

Once again, a motel is the common denominator.  If I owned a magic wand or a bulldozer, the first to go would be Wareham's fine motels!

I remember this one now.  It does appear that the owner cares and wants to improve.  His proposed efficiency apartments might be better than the pay by the hour/day/week hell holes that we're known for.  Village Motel isn't featured as much as others.  Up until now, it didn't appear as "Welly" as Swifts would say.  I'm sure this ain't gonna help get the expansion approved!

Isn't it funny how Mr. DJ Johnson, as undesirable as he is, still chose not to s**t where he eats.  His Pires Street home address in Oakdale is only a couple minutes from the Village Motel. That certainly shows that everything is relative!
