Seven individuals and one team will become the Wareham High School athletic Hall of Fame’s newest inductees, including one high school basketball coach who led the team for 17 years, notching 300 plus wins and 11 South Coast Conference titles.

That would be former coach Kevin Brogioli, who celebrated his 300th win in January 2015. He stepped down as head coach in May of that year. Brogioli took over the head coaching job after the 1998-99 season. He served as assistant coach for 14 years prior to that. Of those 14 years, 13 were with his father, Jim, who coached the Vikings from 1971 to 1997.

When Kevin joined his father in the 300-win club in 2015 (Jim has 404 career wins), they became one of the most winningest father-son coaching duos in state history.

In total, Brogioli has 313 wins, helped earn the school a state championship in 2010, and qualified for the postseason 16 out of the 17 years he was coach.

Brogioli and other inductees will be honored at a ceremony set for Nov. 25 in the Rosebrook Convention Center. Ticket information will be announced at a later date.

The inductees include athletes from the 1950s through the 1990s and include:

Congrats to all!   Wareham has had some great athletes over the years, and I'm sure it's a tough decision during selections.  There are many others that could be added to the hall but of course that's not possible.  To the inductees, great job and to all of the boys and girls that participate in Wareham sports, you're all Hall of Famers to us.
