Support Quahog Republic!

By Theresa ONeill | May 01, 2012

Town Hall — Quahog Republic, an established restaurant business, wants to open a location in Onset Village.

Please support this business at two upcoming meetings with the Town:

May 14, 7pm:  Town Hall Cafeteria

meeting to discuss proposed outdoor seating

May 15, 6:30 pm:  Town Hall Selectmen's Office

meeting to discuss liquor license

Visit the restaurant's website to find out more about this company:

New business means jobs for residents, more taxes for the town, and another reason to come to Wareham.

Where do they propose to open?

In the old Duncan Donuts on Onset Ave. in Onset.

Just south of the bandshell and across from the beach.

A perfect spot for this venue in my opinion.

I'm not so sure.  It is the perfect area of town to have the business, but I don't think that a business can survive with (maybe?) 6 tables. Can't be much more than that in that tiny place.  It CAN survive, but it had better be darned good!  I do wish them the best and I will certainly be there from time to time.  I love trying new places!

Let's leave viability concerns to Quahog Republic's management team.

Another bright spot is the renovation going on at Kenny's Salt Water Taffy.

I heard the new owners are planning an upscale Greek restaurant.

Any business that attracts tourists with deeper pockets than what Onset Village is accustomed to is an improvement.

That's just my opinion.
