The Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Wareham will host “Meet Me At The Tremont” on Aug. 25 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The event takes place at the Tremont Nail Factory, a historic landmark on the Wankinco River.

The town-owned, 7.2-acre site is located at 8 Elm St.

The Tremont Nail Company, which since 1819 had manufactured cut nails and other products, sold the site to Wareham in 2004.

Town and state officials want to transform the former industrial site into a destination for residents and tourists alike.

Officials spent last year soliciting ideas from the public on revamping the site and are currently putting a plan together that will include using the space to host events.

Refreshments at “Meet Me at the Tremont” include a chef-prepared buffet by Minkle Boys Catering.

The Barn Pottery Artists will craft and decorate pieces.

There will be a cash bar and music by Daddy-O.

Tickets cost $35 per person and can be purchased online at www.capecodcanalchamber.org.

For more information, contact Marie Oliva, at 508-759-6000 ext. 12, moliva@capecodcanalchamber.org.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund.
