Bourne/Mashpee/Wareham girls hockey team is doing well

Bourne/Mashpee/Wareham girls hockey is off to a good start in the 2014 season.  Senior captains Brittney St. Germaine and Shayna Santiago are hopeful that the team will continue to do well.

The team tied against Marshfield on Saturday, Jan. 4.  Within the first ten minutes of the game, two goals were scored by Carly Lacasse and Tannah O'Brien.  In the third period, the team scored three more goals. These were scored by Carly Lacasse, Marissa Fitzgerald and Shayna Santiago.

On Wednesday, Jan. 8, the girls fell to Dennis-Yarmouth.  Tannah O'Brien began the game with a goal assisted by Carly Lacasse.  In the third period, Leah Hidenfelter assisted Shayna Santiago to score the second goal. The team lost 2-4, but coach Kristyn Alexander said they "played great hockey."

The team beat Nauset/Cape Cod Tech Saturday, 7-3.  One goal was scored in the first period by Marissa Fitzgerald.  Three were scored in the second period by Natalia Gordon, Shayna Santiago and Tannah O'Brien.  Three goals were scored in the third period, all by Tannah O'Brien. Alexander noted great effort from Michele Flemming, Portia McDonald, and Emily Chambers.

So, with five wins, four losses, and one tie, Bourne/Mashpee/Wareham girls hockey is looking forward to its next game on Saturday, Jan. 25, against Bishop Stang at Gallo Ice Arena in Bourne.

Congrats the the BMW Hockey Team for the success they've had!...not just to the players on the ice but to the dedicated Parents who have made this program dollars come from the three schools involved, it was created and remains alive due to the fundraising efforts of those involved...
