A 'quiet' Swifts Beach Road neighbor faces child pornography charges

Neighbors knew the white, one-story house at 56 Swifts Beach Road as the one with an assortment of used children’s bikes for sale on the lawn, repaired by an older man who lived there with his adult son, Brandon Dalomba.

On June 23, residents saw an assortment of unmarked police cars descend on the property, parked haphazardly “like in a movie” said a neighbor. After a months-long investigation, Dalomba had been arrested on child pornography charges.

Later that day, Dalomba, 35, was arraigned in Wareham District Court on four counts of possession of child pornography.

One neighbor, Maria Dunn, who lives a 30-second walk from the house, said neighbors were worried when Dalomba moved in a few years ago, aware of his past arrests.

Listed as a Level 3 Sex Offender, meaning the individual is “at a high risk to reoffend,” Dalomba was convicted of three charges of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 years of age in 2000. In 2008, he was found guilty of one count of indecent assault and battery on a person aged 14 or older.

Since moving in, however, Dunn said Dalomba was never a cause for a concern, usually working on an old car parked in front or helping his father repair bikes.

“He was quiet,” said Dunn, who has a young grandchild often visit her at home. “We never saw him staring at kids. He never caused anyone trouble. They were very quiet people. We didn’t even see him that much.”

According to police, Dalomba’s charges stemmed from messages he allegedly sent on ChatStep.com. The website bills itself as offering a “secure, private and web based disposable chat room.”

Police said ChatStep submitted two cyber tips to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that photos, which allegedly contained child pornography, had been uploaded and posted during a chat and the person uploading the images lived in Plymouth County.

The State Police task force reported that it located a computer that was sharing files containing child pornography. The computer’s location was traced to a home in Wareham and, on June 16, State Police obtained a search warrant for that address. Police seized four desktop hard drives, one laptop, desktop hard drives, a ZTE 981 cellphone and other additional storage media equipment and devices.

Forensic examiners determined that there were numerous digital files depicting child pornography that had been downloaded from a computer connected to Dalomba’s cellphone.

Dalomba pleaded not guilty on June 23 and was held on $40,000 cash bail, with the conditions that if he makes bail, he will be placed on a GPS monitoring bracelet and ordered to have no contact with children under the age of 18 or electronics.

He was quiet, didn't stare at kids, and was never a cause for concern. Well, that's good to know.  I feel better now.  What did I just read? It almost sounds like this is defending him.

Mrs. Dunn, I am sure that you are a wonderful person and I intend no disrespect. However, next time you are approached by a reporter about something as offensive as this you may not want to get all carried away in your 5 mins of fame.

You didn't see him much or see him staring at kids because he was inside on the computer staring at kids! Or he was staring out the windows at kids looking at the bikes ironically for sale outside. Or he was staring through the fence at the Woods of Wareham playground ironically located nearly adjacent to his back yard.  One can't make this stuff up if they tried.  I'm thinking of a word, yes I am.  Starts with a W and ends with a Y.

I get a kick out of how the definition of a Level 3 Sex Offender is included ("at a high risk to reoffend").  I guess this proves that!  Once a diddler, always a diddler.  The system doesn't work.  These types cannot be rehabilitated.  Proof is right here.

Mrs Dunn is probably petrified of this creep and painted a pretty picture of this diddler . 40 grand cash bail that's lots of bikes .... Send him to Walpole , they love diddlers there ..
