A Big Thank You to the Sound Tower Faithful!

By George Dionne | Dec 26, 2011

2011 was a busy, rewarding, and by far the most successful year for Sound Tower.  At the end of 2010 the current version of the band was just getting their feet wet, and now with 2012 on the horizon, we are hotter and more focused than ever.

We've had our share of good times and bad times, and experienced some lost opportunities. But for every closed window a new door seemed to open up.

We've had a lot of great shows and a lot of good times, but some of my favorite memories of the last year included:

* The midnight proposal at our New Years Eve gig

* Getting the call up to the big leagues, the British Beer Company.  It all started with a free gig to show what we had, and now we play regularly at different locations.

* Selling out Piper Beau's on multiple occassions

* Making our debut in the city of New Bedford.  Although we started in one place, we locked down a permanent residency at another.

* Playing to our largest crowd at the Onset Summer of Love Music Series.  They said we couldn't make them dance...but oh yes we did!

*  Pulling off the same magic at Bourne Concerts in the Park

* Playing our 60th gig on our one year anniversary.  Most bands don't even come close to that number in their first year.

* Our first charity gig for Vested Interest's Hog Wild for K9's Motorcycle ride.  Not only was I dunked in the dunk tank by my wife twice, I was also dunked by a fellow band member, a co-worker, and two Patriots cheerleaders.

* 12 straight successful weeks at the "Home of Sound Tower,"  Piper Beau's.

With that said, Sound Tower owes it's success to the bars, venues, and people that continually support us.  We could never be Wareham's Hottest Cover band without them....

The bars/clubs (and their staff) that continued to support us: Piper Beau's, The Fan Club, British Beer Company, and Shooters.

The bars/clubs that gave us a shot: Striker's Pub, Buzzards Bay Tavern, The Parrot Bar & Grill, Bert's Landing, Club Vivid, Rose Alley Ale House, Home Plate, and Bayside Lounge.

The new bars/clubs that you'll see us at throughout 2012: Tinker's Son, The Courtyard, Barrett's Ale House, Knuckleheads, Players, and Presidents Rock Club (formerly Texas Saloon).

Special shout-out to: Wareham Week, Onset Bay Association (Summer of Love), Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce (Concerts in Park), and Vested Interest in K9's.

Last year I was able to individually thank our friends and fans.  Over the last year our Facebook fans and friends have grown to over 550, so it will be impossible.  We don't refer to our followers as fans anymore.  The friends and followers of Sound Tower are known as the STF (Sound Tower Faithful).  We love you all and thank you for your continued support.

A special thanks to my wife Corinne for her unwavering support.  You continue to love and support me so I can play rockstar on the weekends.  I consider you my biggest fan and I of course am yours.

And finally, thank you to Jack, Greg and Tim for your hard work, dedication, and friendship.  It's been a hell of ride, and I couldn't think of better musicians to experience it with.

Sound Tower's goal has always been to play your favorite songs and create a fun, relaxing, and memoriable experience.  I hope we have entertained you and continue to be your favorite cover band into the new year. We have some great surprises in store for you.
