A set of live, interactive, online seminars presented by the Buzzards Bay Sail and Power Squadron will teach a comprehensive range of boating topics designed to make their participants more confident and secure boaters.

Most seminars are presented online from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

On May 1, the squadron will present a seminar on anchoring: “What you wanted to know but were afraid to ask.” The cost is $30 for USPS members and $40 for non-members.

On May 8 and 22, the squadron will present a seminar on boat handling. The first date covers close quarters and docking, while the second covers what happens underway on the open water. The cost is $40 for USPS members and $50 for non-members.

On May 29, the squadron will present a seminar on the summer winds, covering the weather in New England and Cape Cod. The cost is $30 for USPS members and $40 for non-members.

On May 30, the squadron will present an in-person seminar and pizza buffet at Towne Tavern in Wareham, 3138 Cranberry Highway East. This seminar will cover rope, lines and knots.

All seminars will be a “fun and effective learning experience, with no tests and no pressure,” according to the squadron.
