Weigh in on wastewater

A draft of a comprehensive wastewater management plan for Wareham’s town sewer is nearing completion, one of a number of steps the town’s sewer department needs to take to address its issues with capacity.

The public will get to weigh in on the draft document during an open meeting at 6:30 p.m. in Room 520, formerly Room 320, at the Multi Service Center, 48 Marion Road.

SATURDAY, MAY 11

Spring into bloom

Get a start on the spring season with the Wareham Garden Club’s annual sale.

It will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Methodist Meeting House, 495 Main Street.

There will be perennials, annuals, herbs, vegetable plants, houseplants, dish gardens, hanging baskets, garden tools, garden decor and a chance auction. Garden Club cookbooks, a bake table and crafts will also be available.

Rummage around

The Church of the Good Shepherd, 74 High Street, will have its annual spring rummage sale on Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Items include clothing, coats, shoes, books, puzzles, games, toys, small furnishings, domestic and white elephant items.

All proceeds to benefit the many outreach programs for the community and beyond.

Test your tastebuds

The Onset Bay Association will hold its Mostly Annual Chili Contest on Saturday, May 11 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Stone Path Malt, 11 Kendrick Road.

There will be live music and raffles, and a cash prize for the best chili.

Free shredding, electronics recycling

PCT Federal Credit Union is offering a free shredding and electronics recycling day from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 2203 Cranberry Highway, West Wareham.

Laptops, cell phones, tablets, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, blenders, mixers, microwaves and toaster ovens are accepted for free. TVs cost $25 each, and computer monitors cost $20 each.

Urban renewal opinions

Members of the public are invited to share their thoughts about the future of Wareham Village at an upcoming public hearing.

The Planning Board will hold a public hearing to discuss a draft Urban Renewal Plan for Wareham Village. It will take place at 6 p.m. in Room 520, formerly Room 320, of the Multi-Service Center, 48 Marion Road.
