‘Plant-a-palooza’

Join the Buzzards Bay Coalition for a community effort to enhance the Onset Bay Center area from 9 to 11:30 a.m. 

Volunteers will tidy up, remove weeds, and plant new greenery. 

Volunteers will meet by the Onset Bay Center flagpole next to the Onset Pier to form work groups. Volunteers will return to the center to celebrate Earth Month with a post-planting pizza party from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Stacks on stacks (of pancakes)

Trinity Christian Church at 462 Main Street will have its monthly free community breakfast from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

This month, breakfast will include pancakes, bacon, sausages, hash browns, fresh fruit, assorted juices and coffee. 

The Mission Thrift Shop will be open during breakfast and its regular Saturday hours until 2 p.m.

Opening day

Wareham Girls Softball will hold its opening day ceremonies on at 98 Charlotte Furnace Road. 

Players will arrive at 11:30. The event will run from 12 to 4 p.m.

There will be raffles, games, burger and hot dog meals and more.

Healthy kids, happy kids

The Gleason Family YMCA, 33 Charge Pond Rd, is holding “Healthy Kids Day” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside and in the facility’s gym.

Healthy Kids Day is a national initiative celebrated at Ys across the country to help inspire healthy habits in kids and families. 

The free event will have activities and information for the whole family including a K9 demo from Plymouth County Sherriff Department at 11 a.m. and more.

Trail days

Join the Wareham Land Trust from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to construct a kiosk at Whitlock’s Landing.

 Parking is available onsite at Whitlock’s Landing, 150 Glen Charlie Road, East Wareham.
