Discover a new book

The Friends of the Wareham Free Library will hold their monthly book sale from Thursday, March 21 to Saturday, March 23. It will take place on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wareham Free Library, 59 Marion Road.

The special themed-books table for March will be ‘Welcome Spring’, and will include books on topics such as spring gardening, Easter, baseball and more.

Friday, March 22

A ham and bean supper

Trinity Christian Church, 462 Main Street, will host a ham and bean supper from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The charge for the dinner is $15 for adults and $7 for children under 10. For more information or to RSVP, call or text Pastor Ginny at 508-264-1988.

Saturday, March 23

St. Pat’s pickleball

On Saturday, March 23 from 9 to 1 p.m., pickleball players will gather at the Gleason Family YMCA, 33 Charge Pond Road, for a ‘Sham Slam! St. Patrick’s Day Indoor Open.’

The tournament will be for players who feel their skill level is a 3.5 or better. There will be 16 players in the tournament.

The cost is $30 for YMCA members and $35 for non-members. Proceeds will support the YMCA pickleball program. Sign up at the welcome center in the YMCA.

Sunday, March 24

Sand or snow

Community members will have the opportunity to make their own unique sculptures with the Buzzards Bay Coalition on Onset Beach, at 186 Onset Avenue, whether it’s sunny or snowing.

Join the event on Sunday, March 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. All are welcome regardless of age and/or abilities.

Raise funds for DECA

The high school students in Warham DECA will host the program’s 44th lunch & auction from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Wareham High School Cafeteria.

Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on items that are donated by local businesses as well as local community members in silent and live auctions. Admission to the event is $8, which includes the meal. Tickets can be purchased at www.warehamdeca.com.

Pure imagination

The Wareham Middle School Drama Club will hold its performances of “Willy Wonka Kids” at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Middle School, 4 Viking Drive. For more, see page 15.
