A Week of Literacy and More at Smith Mills Preschool & Kindergarten

Mar 8, 2024

The children at Smith Mills Preschool & Kindergarten celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday with a week of fun, silly, rhyming, and reading activities.  Over the years, Dr. Seuss’s birthday has turned into a national week of literacy highlighting the importance of learning.  Each day featured a different book with silly theme.  Some of the books featured were “The Sleepy Book” for pajama day, “Wacky Wednesday” for mismatched, inside out, backwards day, “The Cat in the Hat” for hat day, and “Fox and Sox” for silly sock day.  On Theodore Tuesday, the children dressed up as Dr. Seuss or their favorite Dr. Seuss character.  Along with these great theme days, the children had a parade throughout the school, created some colorful art projects, and did lots of rhyming.
