Wareham shellfishing ban in place

Oct 07, 2016

The Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries Buzzards Bay has banned all shellfishing in Wareham waters effective Oct. 8 due to an algae bloom caused by toxic phytoplankton.

This closure includes all private aquaculture sites. The ban will remain in place until further notice.

The Wareham Harbormaster's office will provide more information as it becomes available.

How can't the information be readily available if the harbormaster has already closed off all shellfishing? Everything is a big secret in this town tell us why you closed the shellfishing down! You already know we have the right to know!

Knocked, if you reread the second line of the story it answered your demands.  And I can only work with what the State gives me for information.
