The Wareham Council on Aging and Old Colony Elder Serves have named Wareham's John Morrissey as Volunteer of the Year for 2017. The award was established in memory of the late Laine Bilodeau, a volunteer and friend, in 2014.

Morrissey has been a meals coordinator and delivery driver for Meals on Wheels for 10 years. He also volunteers at other various community programs. He is also a retired member of the U.S. Air Force.

The Council on Aging and Old Colony Elder Services offered thanks for Morrissey’s dedication and hard work, noting that last year Meals on Wheels distributed over 25,000 meals in Wareham.
