An unmarked Wareham Police cruiser was rear ended in front of the police station at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

The accident backed up traffic on both directions of Route 28 as Wareham Fire Department crews cleared the scene.

The police cruiser suffered significant rear end damage. A silver Volvo sport utility vehicle involved in the accident had some front end damage.

It’s unknown at this time what caused the accident or if there were any injuries.

Let me guess.....Alcohol or weed?

Posted by: Andrea Smith | Oct 01, 2016 11:26

Maybe a "smart" phone?

I am really good at stereotyping.  It is a late model Volvo worth more than the average Warehamy weed smoker makes (or should I say collects in welfare) in a year.  I'd rule out weed.  If it was a $500 car with $3000 wheels and a $2000 stereo it could be a Warehamy weed smoker because they probably stole the wheels and the stereo.

I'd say it was a someone from Marion just passing through Wareham that simply had an accident.

Happy Rainy Day!

Wareham by the sea , that looks like the same exact Volvo that was driving around swifts where the occupants were passing out waking up crashing into things . Looks like the same exact Volvo

Swift's,  no kidding.  I heard about that through word of mouth but never read about it in the news.  Good thing nobody got hurt.

In in that case then, they probably stole the whole vehicle from someone in Marion :)

I can't with the ignorance.....it's a Volvo not a Lamborghini! Guess what Warehambythesea, there are people in Wareham who can afford a Volvo and wouldn't have to steal it. Frigging troll.

Or maybe the officer stopped real short as he/she passed the entrance because he/she was texting or some other form of distracted driving?

Peaches - thanks for calling a troll, a troll. For those who may be wondering, a few of the traits typical of a troll:

"Posts inflammatory comments, not to engage in serious conversation, but to "grief" or annoy an online community."

"An obvious glee and elated satisfaction is aroused in them when people join the fight and reply to their deliberately disruptive comments."

"The mark of a troll is to keep hammering away at a point in an obsessive manner."

"Will try to bring up issues that they are angry about, no matter what the topic of a thread is.... or whatever it is they're hostile toward, in an attempt to start a new argument within the current debate"

Maybe the officer, was on the cell, while looking at his on board computer, and the JOE on the dash fell between the legs, OUCH,CRASH...

Andrea, I respect you.  I've been reading your work for years.  Peaches, I don't know much about you. Why is stereotyping me as a troll ok? Whenever I poke fun at all the Warehamy people that surround us I get attacked for stereotyping. Double standard? Why do you take me so seriously? I'm having a little fun. I know that people in Wareham can afford a Volvo. You don't need to tell me that. I am the first one to say that Wareham is a wonderful beautiful place. Yet I am certainly also the first one to say that the bad apples tend to spoil it for us good ones. If I am named a troll, what do we call all those defend this place like nothing is wrong?

Posted by: Peaches0409 | Oct 03, 2016 11:54

It's hardly stereotyping. You are a troll. Go back and read your comments. I have yet to find a positive one.

Posted by: Wareham By The Sea | Oct 03, 2016 12:25

Ok, I'm a troll if you say so.  I thought I was being called a  supernatural creature of Scandinavian folklore.  I never heard that term until I saw Andrea's definition.  I take it as cyber name-calling amongst a group of bloggers.  Hey, when I looked up troll I saw that it also means to move around from place to place, like a transient, looking for something.  That means we have trolls in our motels.  Couldn't resist!

I know that I tend to focus on the purple elephants that many refuse to see, but I just said positive things about teachers.  I just said positive things about the people fixing up the Habitat House.  I just said I was glad nobody got hurt down Swifts.

See, I can be positive too.

knocked for six and bob, I'd like to thank you for your concern regarding this accident.  I can assure you that the officer did not stop short nor was he distracted by any electronic device or beverage.  My children and I are just thankful that he wasn't hurt by what appears to be a gentleman who was indeed distracted. I wonder if either of you understand what it's like to send a loved one off to work each and every day and worry about them coming home safely like those of us in the police community do.  Maybe you are both better suited to stay home and type your opinions and judgments behind the safety of your computer screens unlike the men and women in blue who hit the streets each and every day to make sure people like you remain safe and protected.  Oh and don't worry, he didn't waste any of your tax dollars taking any time off, he was back to work the next day as scheduled!!

Well said MelissaD and thanks to you and your family because most of us realize that you all make sacrifices every day you send your loved one to work. #bluelivesmatter

Very Well said Melissa , btw what happened to those two "thugs"? Why was it kept away from the public ?

Posted by: Andrea Smith | Oct 03, 2016 22:41

Wareham by the Sea - Why do I take you so seriously? The degree to which you hammer away at, or in your words, "poke fun at all the Warehamy people" doesn't seem funny to me at all. Knowing that posting those comments is your idea of "having a little fun," I will no longer be reading your comments.

Posted by: Wareham By The Sea | Oct 04, 2016 00:50

Andrea,  I am sorry that you feel that way.

Posted by: Wareham By The Sea | Oct 04, 2016 11:22

Andrea, your boycott has hurt my feelings and made me take a few to reflect.  It the past week we've had the story about the two losers arrested for breaking into cars.  We've had the 5 scumbags arrested on outstanding warrants.  We've had that filthy looking couple arrested for drugs at the Woods.  These are the Warehamy people I refer to.  Would you rather I say that they lacked hugs and kisses when they were kids so it's not their fault?  Do you feel bad for the losers that I make fun of?  It that what this is about?  I feel bad for Wareham.  I feel bad for all us good people in this town that are forced to constantly be associated with this element.  I'm certainly not the only one that feels this way.

I am really good at stereotyping<<<  wareham by the sea post from above,

really wanting 2 learn how 2 judge people by how they look,, NOT,,,

as some of y'all seem 2 have the ability 2 do, then hide it behind,,,wbts post>>>

I feel bad for all us good people in this town that are forced to constantly be associated with this element.

you are not forced 2 be associated with that element, they have done nothing directly 2 you, you sir/madam, you have associated yourself to this element by reading these articles and posting ur comments,,only person u can blame is yourself, until 1 of these peeps actually do something personal 2 you

Posted by: Wareham By The Sea | Oct 04, 2016 15:40

You must have written that while driving 181 MPH my friend.  First and most important, how do you know that they've never done anything directly to me?  They have.  Second, the stereotyping comment was a tongue-in-cheek response to something previous.  It wasn't a self-proclamation.

Posted by: Spherebreaker | Oct 04, 2016 16:09

WBTS, You have to type slowly for 181. It may help to use 2 as well. Apparently all that time being forced into association with the element has taken its toll. Its seems they are a big apologist for drug dealers, maybe there is a link, I can only assume.
