Kukoo GO FISH Casts a Wide Net for Auction Items and Event Sponsors
Second Annual Boys & Girls Club Gala June 16
The Boys & Girls Club of Wareham is gearing up for a record catch at this year’s Kukoo GO FISH Gala dinner and auction on June 16 at the Kittansett Club in Marion. This year, the Club is fishing for donations of aquatic themed auction items and hoping to reel in event sponsors water, land-based or otherwise for its second annual program fundraiser.
Kukoo GO FISH brings environmental awareness to the water while Boys & Girls Club members learn about the history, business and sport of fishing and the aquatic environment through a combination of demonstrations, hands-on activities and off site tours through October 2012.
Please help: We’re looking for creative donations to auction (silent and live) such as handmade or custom painted, sculpted or carved items relating to fish or the underwater world. Other welcome donations include gift certificates, gift baskets and original crafts and jewelry with a fish or water theme. In order to be included in the Gala catalogue, please call (508) 295-5400 to arrange for a pickup or drop off your donations at the Boys & Girls Club at 54 Viking Drive before May 28.
In addition to auction items, the Club seeks corporate sponsors to help underwrite the project and help with fundraising. To date: Big Fish sponsors for the Kukoo Go Fish project include: Eastern Bank, A.D. Makepeace, Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank, Sea-Dar Construction, Anthi Frangiadis Associates, Wareham Crossing and Reynolds DeWalt. Sponsorships range from $5,000 to $100. The Star Fish sponsorship level at $250 includes a reservation for two at the Gala and a listing in the event program. Donation forms are for items and sponsorships are available on the Club website www.bgcnewbedford.org Kukoo display.
Proceeds from the Kukoo GO FISH Gala support programs and services provided by the Wareham Boys & Girls Club to young people ages 7 to 13 and help in a major way to fund ongoing youth programs, specifically, the affordable after school and summer fun programs offered by the Club.
