For the pick of the catch, reserve your Gala tickets today! Tickets for the evening event are $100 per person and include a wonderful menu featuring what else? Seafood dishes and chicken for landlubbers. Cocktails start and a silent auction begins at 5:30 followed by dinner and a live auction. For your tickets, call (508) 992-8011 or buy on line by clicking here.
Auction items include: Sailing trips, deep sea fishing, nautical themed gift baskets, original art work and jewelry, ceramics works, gift certificates, kayak package including private lessons with Dick Wheeler and catered clam boil for 20, plus many other unique items and experiences. “We even have a few nautical themed birdhouses as a follow-up on last year’s theme,” comments event chairperson Anthi Frangiadis.
This year, Kukoo GO FISH brings environmental awareness to the water while Boys & Girls Club members learn about the history, business and sport of fishing and the aquatic environment through a combination of demonstrations, hands-on activities and off site tours through October 2012. Children have visited the Woods Hole Aquarium, the Whaling Museum, and, closer to home, the marsh near the Club on Viking Drive in the company of an environmental educator and Onset Beach to meet and greet Dick Wheeler.
Can’t attend the gala? You can still support the ongoing educational programs--online or by sending a check to: Boys & Girls Club of Wareham, P.O. 1506, New Bedford, MA 02741.
